the Vroongronden Renesse nature reserve and its fascinating flora and fauna. Speaking of flora and fauna; you stand a good chance of spotting a seal at the beach! Starting two hours before and up to two hours after low tide, seals can generally always be seen on the sandbars of the beach. How brilliant is that? A must to visit with children is the Gadrabos: this forest is the perfect place to while away an autumn day.

Culture in Renesse 

If you are in Renesse, you will undoubtedly stumble upon Slot Moermond, a real castle! This castle was built as early as the thirteenth (!) century, but was then regularly destroyed and had to be rebuilt several times. The oldest part of the castle that is still there today was built in the sixteenth century. The castle is surrounded by a protected nature reserve: Landgoed Moermond.

The harbour of Renesse 

The harbour of Renesse is a convivial place where there is a lot to do. It boasts several restaurants and terraces where you can enjoy food and drinks overlooking the boats in the harbour.
